It has been a long wait but the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2015 has finally arrived. And what an awesome show it was! Here are the facts, in the glamourous looks and themes to the outstanding musical performances.
Portrait of an Angel
Following the daring opening, musician The Weeknd helped the girls transition into the sensual moment section. With the glowing lights turned down and an ominous brick background looming, the models walked down the runway that was now lined with “iron” fences. Pastel colors were mixed with neutrals to specify outfits made of lace and chiffon. With a few cheeky winks and blown kisses, the angels appeared to potentially have a dark-side as they lured the viewer into this segment.
Exotic Butterflies
Butterflies took flight in the next part of the VS series with giant blue wings surrounding the runway as Ellie Goulding sang to the crowd. Newcomer, Gigi Hadid made her first walk in this segment in a gorgeous green and black butterfly design. Other versions donned elaborate butterfly wings on their backs such as Lais Ribeiro’s amazing salmon coloured set that reverted perfectly to the ground.
PINK USA
With temporary ice-blue eyes, a sexy Selena Gomez opened the PINK USA segment with a team of dancers. The fun continued with appearances ranging from Taylor Hill dressed in an American flag to Gigi Hadid in fireman trousers. The girls shook their stuff down the runway and Selena gave Gigi a cheeky tap on the butt!
Ice Angels
Ellie Goulding returned to the point to present the Ice Angels with her hit song ‘Love Me Like You Do’. A dreamy cabin on a snowy mountain with stars in the sky set the scene as Candice Swanepoel rocked a nude skin-tight jumpsuit, beaded to perfection and cut at a deep-V down to her belly. White of course ruled these appearances with plenty of fur and feathers for added drama.
Fireworks
Saving the best for last, Fireworks gave the show an extra bang. Opened by Lily Aldridge wearing the coveted Fantasy Bra, she strutted down the runway as The Weeknd sang ‘Can not Feel My Face’. Models followed sparkling as their glittering outfits reflected the lights. Fireworks both before and following their ignition inspired layouts for this section, creating a colourful and exciting display.
As the show drew to a finish all of the models danced down the runway for a final moment. Goodbye Angels and thanks to your great show! Next year we’ll see you .
