The spotlight was on a few of the most beautiful women on the planet as they took to the runway in London, England, on Dec. 2, to show off the latest collections the lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret has to offer you.
The haute couture genius is Serkan Cura and we need him to thank you for all those beautiful wired, feathered pieces that we see our favourite models strutting down the catwalk every year. But that sort of beauty does not happen immediately, and Cura revealed he spends months prepping before each show.
Talking to Grazia Daily relating to this year’s series in London, he explained the process, stating, “I am quite excited. It’s a lengthy process which I began in May I do the drawings, create the samples and then make improvements. I began making the outfits July following my show.”
He’s been a part of those displays for a few years now, but he has been working with feathers since he had been 13-years-old — and any one of you who have been involved in an arts and crafts project which uses feathers will understand just how catchy they are supposed to use.
Talking of the love of feathers, Cura explained, “I put them all; clothing, lingerie, hats. I tried to locate all of the fabrics with feathers and I learnt all the techniques. There’s so much you can do together, you can create them like fur, such as flowers, you merely want the fire to get started. I’ve got twenty years practice today so that I can do a lot with feathers, ask me now to make you something — I will make whatever you want!”
And he actually can make everything you want because fans were treated to Cura’s layouts (39 amazing creations) which followed the topics, ‘Fairy Tales’ and ‘Dream Girls’ and ‘Gilded Angels, ” which watched Karlie Kloss wearing golden wings made out of actual 18k gold!
This year the sexiest show on earth didn’t disappoint as versions including Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo, Elsa Hosk, Adriana Lima and Alessandro Ambrosi walked down over 100 feet of glittery runway.
