“When in doubt, wear red.” — Bill Blass
There are also some ones based on color, although you’ll see there are loads of trends surrounding layouts and fabrics. And in our view there are no colours as striking as red, head-to-toe reddish!
Wearing red out of head-to-toe is extremely glamourous and we saw this bold colour return to the style scene last autumn (observed on the runways of Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, Helmut Lang, Tibi and Prabal Gurung and some of the very fashionable celebs) and it hasn’t disappeared yet! These strong colours make a statement all on their own so you do not have to go overboard on the accessories, so maintain your look easy and your accessories to minimum so that the bold hue is the focus of your appearance.
Ditch the LBD and try the LRD! Some key bits you should try out this year: A timeless read blazer, tailored reddish pants, turtleneck shirt, a complete skirt.
But, red is quite a facing, lively color, and is demonstrated to arouse stronger emotions than any other color (meaning you’re likely to turn heads). So, if you don’t feel confident enough avert this tendency for now and rather try introducing a single red piece into your wardrobe till you warm into the colour and feel comfortable enough to pull of the trend in its entirety.
Will you be incorporating a red to your wardrobe this season?
