The backstreets of Cremorne were exceptionally perceptible with the continuous clip-clip of expensive heels as close 600 elegantly attired ‘Titans’ of government, business, media and many certainly the style and beauty businesses descended en masse to a previously unbeknownst warehouse conversion to listen to the most important announcement of the forthcoming ‘Fashion Year’.
High anticipation was obviously palpable as those who had come were firstly supplied a dramatic welcome by what’s now come to be monikered that the ‘VAMFF army’, an installation of 40 models, both lads and lasses, dressed in a sea of stunning gray hooded blousons, the creation of dynamic designing duo Peter Strateas and Mario Carlucci of tag, Strateas.Carlucci.
As the fashionable conclave greeted each other with merry zeal, thoughts wandered concerning exactly what MFF Chairman, Laura Anderson and The Festival’s CEO, Graeme Lewsey had in store for the 2015 rendition of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.
Firstly Both Anderson and Lewsey reaffirmed the genius of this affiliation between Virgin Australia and the Festival. The Partnership now in its second season, is looking to engage consumers even more and looks to placing the Melbourne Fashion Festival as not a neighborhood but Australian occasion within the assumption of a significant attraction for tourism at 2015.
Second, VAMFF has a new beauty associate, in national health and beauty retailer, Priceline. Priceline will endeavour to deliver the latest in hair and beauty looks to the VAMFF runways by boosting its greatest hair and makeup brands such as Rimmel and L’Oreal and has strategies to participate the top creatives in the industry to do so.
As for the App itself, the core Festival will stride two weekends with a total of eight times of thrilling Runway shows interspersed with superior occasions including the National Designer Award presented by Tiffany & Co.. The opening event, which will again feature the David Jones Runway, is scheduled for Saturday 14th March coinciding with the Grand Prix in Melbourne. VAMFF will also collate a stellar list of international and local speakers for its prestigious Company Events Series that in 2015 finds a new home at Crown Resorts.
As for particulars, The Grand Showcase, a much anticipated highlight of this Runway displays, will feature Josh Goot. Goot, a previous alumnus of the Festival’s National Designer Award may also celebrate a milestone 10 decades of the eponymous label. The Grand Finale for 2015 will showcase the creative genii of artists Anna Plunkett and Luke Revenue of Romance Was Born. The event will take place in the National Gallery of Victoria.
Since Lewsey shown the 2015 theme of the campaign ‘Get Close’ it became evident that Festival has succeeded in achieving its key goal to make retail and fashion available to consumers.
Accompanied by a month long Cultural Program, VAMFF 2015 looks to be bigger and brighter than it’s ever been aficionados of this Festival will not be let down.
