Parisian Concept Store Colette Plans to Close its Doors

History has often proven that iconic figures are lost to us while they’re still young. Now, the same could be said of style’s most renowned concept store, Colette. After twenty successful years, the Parisian store has announced it’s going to shut its doors this December 20th. Since the store has declared, “all good things must come to an end.” The store, which is a favourite of Karl Lagerfeld and style lovers worldwide, initially opened in 1997. Made by Colette Roussaux, it’s famous for its mastery curating. Basically, this involves its capacity to sell high fashion pieces together with the everyday. Through time, the store has showcased luxury brands such as Chanel and Balenciaga, alongside McDonald’s product, art magazines, dolls and gadgets. Consequently, it is this boundary pushing, quirky means of merchandising that’s made Colette famous.

Even though Colette Rousseaux’s daughter, Sarah Andelman, currently directs the business, Rousseaux still lives above the Rue Saint-Honoré store. Now, Colette is ready to retire, and as the newest clarified: “Colette cannot exist without Colette.” It’s speculated that luxury powerhouse Saint Laurent will take over the coveted retail location. Until December nevertheless, Colette will stay. Consequently, you will find a few more high fashion collaborations set for the forthcoming months. These include Sacai, Chanel, and paradoxically, Saint Laurent.

#colette BREAKING NEWS As all good things have to come to a conclusion, after twenty wonderful years, colette ought to be shutting its doors on December 20th of this year. Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she want to take her time ; and colette can’t exist without Colette. Negotiations are under way with Saint Laurent and we would be pleased to have a Brand with such a history, with whom we have frequently collaborated, taking over our speech. We are pleased of the serious interest given by Saint Laurent in this undertaking, and it might also signify a very good chance for our employees. Until our last day, nothing will change. Colette will continue to renew itself every week using exclusive collaborations and offerings, also accessible on our site colette.fr We thank you for your support and see you at colette–until December 20th! #coletteforever #colette20ans #colette

Nike’s Revolutionary Flyknit Technology Features in New Sports Bra

When Nike introduced their Flyknit technology back in 2012, it revolutionised the way they created their shoes. Now, five years on, that technology has finally found its way to a different group of fitness essentials: the sport bra. The new design is named the Fe/Nom Flyknit bra. Differing from other high-support layouts, the incorporation of the Flyknit technology enables Nike to significantly reduce the number of production pieces.     Engineers and designers spent over 600 hours conducting biometric testing, to evaluate the best method to execute the Flyknit technology. Testing involved the digital body scan of female athletes, to assess regions of high heat, perspiration, cooling and motion. The Fe/Nom Flyknit Bra is now available on the web.
